No human carries capacity alone — what is livable is always held together.

A Life

A Human Capacity

A Human Capacity names what is available to a person before conscious agency. It is not skill, intelligence, or personality. It is the degree of coherence carried forward into the next cycle.

1

Definition

Capacity determines:

  • what can be perceived
  • what can be held
  • what can be integrated
  • what can be expressed

It is both:

  • the inheritance of prior cycles
  • and the limit of the current one
2

Relationship to the Equation

The system turns on a single relationship:

Coherence shapes capacity — capacity re-enters the cycle.
  • Alignment and grace increase coherence
  • Drift reduces coherence
  • Rest restores coherence

Capacity is not fixed.

It expands or contracts based on the coherence carried forward.

Each cycle does not repeat life.
It alters the ability to live it.
3

Where Capacity Operates

Capacity is expressed across three conditions:

Formation — how coherence is held
Union ↔ Separation

Capacity determines how much connection or separation can be sustained without loss of coherence.

Expression — how coherence is revealed
Spark ↔ Cover

Capacity determines how much truth can be expressed or contained without distortion.

Direction — how coherence moves
Toward ↔ Away

Capacity determines what can be approached or avoided without reactivity.

4

Patterns of Capacity

These terms have long been used to mark biological difference.

Here they are held differently — as structural patterns in how coherence is organized within a human system.

Clarifying Terms

Masculine and feminine are not used here as gender identities. They name two fundamental movements within human capacity:

Feminine — the capacity to hold, contain, and sustain coherence

Masculine — the capacity to direct, initiate, and move coherence

Every human system requires both.

XX Holding (contained)
the archetypal feminine pattern

Coherence concentrates in containment

Stability is maintained

Movement is reduced

Result: preservation · Risk: contraction
XY Movement (directed)
the archetypal masculine pattern

Coherence concentrates in movement

Action is prioritized

Stability is reduced

Result: change · Risk: fragmentation
Integration (contained in motion)
the evolved human pattern

Coherence distributes across holding and movement

Expression and direction remain aligned

Movement is sustained without loss of stability

Result: adaptive coherence
These are not fixed states.
They describe how coherence is distributed at a given moment.
5

Closing

Capacity does not determine what happens.

It determines what can be lived
without loss of coherence.
